At this point you should be left with what you're going to keep.
The next step is to put it away in a way that makes sense.
- Pots and pans should go near
the stove and/or oven.
- Place settings and
silverware should be stored near the table or near the area in which you
serve dinner.
- Plastic food storage
containers should be near either the stove/oven or the refrigerator.
- Dishwashing and cleaning
supplies should be under the kitchen sink.
- Spatulas, large wooden
spoons and the like should go near the stove.
- Knives should be stored near
the food prep area.
Think about where you store
items and keep them in areas closest to the area in which they are used.
If you need more room that's
when you can purchase organizing tools to help. For example, there
are shelves that insert into existing shelves to double the space.
There are under the shelf shelves to increase storage
Lazy susans are great for
storing and easily accessing cleaning supplies.
Over the door shoe holders can
be used to increase pantry space.
Put away the items you use
daily. Whatever is left can be filled in on upper shelves, hard to
reach places and other inconvenient areas.
This step is critically
important because it is the basis for the systems you will use going
forward.
